Video Jack started in 2004 as a collaborative project between Portuguese artists André Carrilho and Nuno Correia for audiovisual art and VJing. Video Jack aims at combining animation, music and interactivity in a cohesive way, often using narrative elements.

They explore different means to get the audience involved with their work – in their performances, the interface is apparent to the audience, and their projects are also released as interactive installations and net art projects.

André is an illustrator / designer and works for such publications as The New Yorker, The Independent and Vanity Fair. Nuno Correia is a musician and a PhD student at Media Lab Helsinki, where he also teaches.

They have performed and showcased work in more than 15 countries and in such festivals and venues as Electro-Mechanica (St. Petersburg), FILE (São Paulo), Le Cube (Paris), Mapping (Geneva), NAME (Lille), PixelAche / Kiasma (Helsinki), Optronica / British Film Institute (London), Re-New (Copenhagen) and SXSW (Austin). As VJs, they have contributed visuals to top international DJs, such as Boys Noize, DJ Koze, Ellen Allien, Erol Alkan, Ikonika, Loco Dice, Matthew Dear, Radio Slave, Rub-n-Tug and Tiefschwarz.
