‘Welcome to the Darkness’…

…she said as she prepared to dazzle us with experimental sounds and singing loops, and spoken word.

AGF sees us to the final of the series of Livesoundtracks events ‘Poetry in the Darkness,’ where the German artist treated us to 3 short performances. Each live set was based on a different film made by a pioneering female director including the likes of Maya Deren and Steina Vasulka.

We were welcomed with a warm presentation and a few near melancholic tears from the event organiser, Anna Mastrolitto, who has every reason to be beaming as she is in these photos. Poetry in the Darkness has been a complete success since its beginnings, gathering together an artistic crowd of musicians, producers and visual artists in the beautiful space at Sala Hiroshima, Barcelona.

I’ll leave you with the remainder of the photo reportage whilst we await the publication of an exclusive interview with AGF on her work and what it’s like living in Finland.
